Jeremy Deutsch joined Equinix in 2008 and most recently served as Managing Director of Equinix Australia, leading the company’s business strategy in the Australian market before being appointed as President of Asia-Pacific in 2019. In this role, he oversees the management, strategy and growth for Equinix in Asia-Pacific. In 2018, Deutsch led the company’s acquisition of Metronode in Australia, which made Equinix the market leader in the country.
With more than 19 years of experience in the ICT industry, Deutsch joined Equinix in 2008 as Sales Director in Australia. He is responsible for developing executive customer relationships, leading a sales team to drive revenue growth and managing projects across teams and regions for seamless delivery of services to customers. In that role, he had ranked as the company’s top-performing sales leader in the Asia-Pacific region for three consecutive years.
Before joining Equinix, Deutsch was General Manager of Products at Unwired Australia, a SingTel Optus group company, managing product strategy, alliance partnerships, and user experience delivery. He also worked for Pihana Pacific, which was acquired by Equinix in 2002, where he supported all aspects of its sales process and managed the life cycle of existing and new products.
Deutsch holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Information Systems from the University of New South Wales.
Senior Vice President of Sales, Equinix Asia-Pacific
Diarmid Massey is Senior Vice President of Sales of Equinix Asia-Pacific, overseeing the company’s sales strategy and execution in the region. He leads continuous revenue growth ahead of the market and executes industry-leading channel strategy. With his extensive experience in key verticals, including cloud and network service providers, system integrators and global/regional enterprises, he played a crucial role in driving business success for the company in the region.
Before joining Equinix in 2014, Massey was Head of Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific for Vodafone Carrier Services, where he was responsible for spearheading the establishment of the business in those regions. During his tenure with Cable & Wireless Worldwide as the Vice President/Managing Director of Global Wholesale and Carriers, he led a four-year realignment of its $1-billion global wholesale service provider business. He maintained continuous double-digit sales growth in its business-to-business segment, even in the face of economic downturn and corporate restructuring.
With more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry regionally and globally, Massey is a well-recognized thought leader and an experienced keynote speaker.
Managing Director, Equinix Australia
Guy Danskine is the Managing Director of Equinix Australia, leading the company’s business strategy in the market. He joined Equinix in February 2011 as Global Account Manager in Sydney and most recently served as Senior Director, Strategic Alliances, in San Francisco, where he has been leading a cross-functional team to deepen the company’s partnership with key strategic alliance partners.
Before joining Equinix, Danskine led business development and sales for the service provider sector at Geo Networks in London, which was subsequently acquired by Zayo Networks. Before Geo, he held key leadership and sales roles at Optus and Hutchison Telecoms.
A native Australian, Danskine possesses more than 20 years of sales and leadership experience in the ICT industry across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the US.
Managing Director, Equinix South Asia
Yee May Leong joined Equinix in April 2019 as Managing Director of Equinix South Asia, leading the company’s business strategy in Singapore and Indonesia.
Leong brings to Equinix more than 30 years of experience in the Information and Communications Technology sector. She has held senior management positions in leading technology companies, including IBM, Lotus, F5 Networks and Orange Business Services, where she spearheaded the companies’ market growth and industry leadership in the Asia-Pacific region.
Before joining Equinix, Leong was the Vice President of the Communications Sector for IBM in Asia-Pacific, overseeing the company’s strategic business development in ASEAN, Australia, India, Korea and New Zealand. Leong also had an eight-year tenure with Orange Business Services, where she significantly grew the sales volumes and revenues of their Asia-Pacific business. She also spent four years with F5 Networks, during which she led their Asia-Pacific expansion into Greater China and ASEAN countries, and continuously achieved double-digit business growth for the region.
Leong holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, major in computer science and minor in management studies from the University of Waterloo in Canada. She also completed the advanced management program at Harvard Business School in the United States.
Managing Director, Equinix Hong Kong
Larry Tam is Managing Director of Equinix Hong Kong, leading the company’s business strategy in the Hong Kong market. He joined Equinix in July 2018 as Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Equinix Hong Kong. In that role, Tam oversaw all aspects of the sales and marketing function. He was responsible for formulating the company’s sales and business strategy, accelerating revenue growth and expanding enterprise business in Hong Kong.
Tam brings to Equinix more than 30 years of technology leadership, business planning and management, and sales and marketing experience in the ICT industry. Before joining Equinix, Tam was the Managing Director for Hong Kong and Macau at Brocade, where he drove the overall business growth and performance of the company’s networking business in the two regions. Before that, Tam was the Country Manager for Hong Kong and Macau at Juniper Networks and the Marketing Director for Asia-Pacific at Level 3 Communications.
A native of Hong Kong, Tam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba in Canada.
Managing Director, Equinix China
Alex Yao is Managing Director of Equinix China, responsible for leading the company’s business strategy in the market. Yao joined Equinix in 2018 as Senior Director of Sales & Marketing in China. In that role, he led the formulation of the company’s sales and marketing strategy, accelerating revenue growth and expanding enterprise business in China.
Yao brings to Equinix more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, business development, strategic planning, operations and technology leadership in the ICT industry. Before joining Equinix, Yao co-founded Shanghai Data Solution (SDS), one of the leading IT service providers in China in 1999. Throughout the past 20 years, Yao has held senior management positions at SDS spanning a wide range of areas, including sales and marketing, engineering, business operations and technical support. He was most recently Head of Sales & Marketing, Technical Support, and Operations at SDS, leading a team of more than a hundred people to grow the business in China.
Yao holds an EMBA from the China Europe International Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications from Tongji University in China.
Country Manager, Equinix Korea
Chris Jang joined Equinix in April 2019 as Country Manager of Equinix Korea, leading the company’s business strategy in the Korean market.
Jang brings to Equinix more than 20 years of industry experience and in-depth knowledge of cloud, software and mobile industries. He has held senior management positions in leading technology and cloud companies, including Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Korea.
Before joining Equinix, Jang was Head of Google Cloud in Korea, where he successfully drove significant growth of the cloud business in the country. Before that, Jang was Head of AWS in Korea, Country Manager of Bytemobile (acquired by Citrix) and Sylantro Systems (acquired by BroadSoft) in Korea. He has a proven track record of building teams, formulating sales, and go-to-market strategies while establishing strategic channel partnerships and alliances.
Jang holds a master’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics, and bioengineering from the University of Washington, and a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Buffalo in the United States.
